Current Mission

The vocal ensemble Phonodia has qualified for the finals of the Tokyo International Choir Competition—one of the most prestigious choral competitions in the world!

With your support, this July 2025 in Japan, we will proudly represent Greece on a global musical stage, among top vocal ensembles from around the world.

Who We Are

Phonodia is a Vocal Ensemble based in Heraklion, Crete, operating under the Crete Center for Vocal Arts,
a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting music through choral singing.
Since our founding in 2019, we have steadily grown, gaining recognition both in Greece and abroad.
Phonodia consists of three groups, bringing together children from 8 years old to adults up to 52 years old,
creating a unique musical dialogue between generations.
Throughout our journey, we have collaborated with renowned composers, conductors, and orchestras,
including Miltos Logiadis, Nikos Platyrachos, Nikos Christodoulou, Dimitris Maragkopoulos, Giorgos
Kouroupos, and Nikos Kypourgos.
Phonodia has been honored with the Grand Prix (First Prize) at the IMMC International Online Competition
in Russia and a Silver Medal at the T.I.C.C. International Choir Competition (online participation).

Our Goal

We are thrilled to announce that Phonodia has qualified for the finals of the Tokyo International Choir
Competition — one of the world’s leading choral competitions — taking place in Japan in July 2025!

This year, Greece will have us as its sole representative — and we are proud of it!

With your support, we will carry the voice of Greek poetry and music to the international stage!

Why We Need Your Support

This journey is a great dream — but also a significant challenge — for a small, non-profit ensemble like
Phonodia. The total cost for our delegation is substantial for each of our members, covering airfare, accommodation, meals, local transportation, and competition fees.
